Willoughby City Council provides a wide range of playground facilities, ranging from district level facilities through to local neighbourhood ‘pocket’ parks. Playgrounds provide important facilities to the community, particularly for children and their parents and carers. These parks also provide a pleasant environment to relax and enjoy the beauty of the natural surrounds.
In recognition of the importance of playgrounds, Council adopted a Playground Development Plan in 1998, and commenced a program of constructing new and upgrading existing playgrounds. As a result of this program, Council has completed a number of exciting and innovative playgrounds, including Beauchamp Park, Chatswood Park, John Roche Playground, Castle Cove Park, Lowanna Park, Muston Park and the highly regarded Hallstrom Park.
