Penalty notices and payments

Penalty notices (fines) can be issued for a breach of local or state laws.

For reasons of corruption prevention and consistency, Revenue NSW manage the fines process on behalf of Council, including:

  • payment of fines
  • requests for review of fines
  • requests for additional information.

Payment of fines

Fines must be paid by the specified due date or you risk incurring additional costs and potential recording of a conviction (see What happens if you don't pay your fine?).

Request a review of a fine

You can request a review of your fine by contacting Revenue NSW if you believe special circumstances led to the offence being committed.
