Exceptional storms, flooding and extreme heat events are becoming more frequent, so it has never been more important to get prepared.

Willoughby City Council is encouraging residents to prepare and complete an emergency plan using the Red Cross Get Prepared app.

The Get Prepared app is a free, user-friendly tool that helps residents connect with key support contacts, assess local risks and create an easy-to-follow emergency plan. It allows users to establish a support network, complete preparedness tasks and save or print their plan for easy sharing.

Resources have also been prepared to specifically assist multicultural communities plan for emergencies, including flyers translated into simplified Chinese and Korean.

Call triple zero (000) if

  • someone is seriously injured or in need of urgent medical help
  • your life or property being threatened
  • you have just witnessed a serious accident or crime.
