When would you need this?

A development application is a formal request to build or modify your home or business site.

What you need to know

  • Recommended read: Do I need approval?
  • All documents, checklists, cost summary reports, plans, reports and other documentation must be in PDF format when submitted to the ePlanning Portal.
  • Please name your files within 100 characters, save them in PDF format and limit the size of your files to 300MB.

  • Ensure that all required documents, including any relevant plans, are prepared and ready for lodgement. You can view the list of required documents and detailed information on plan and document requirements: Development application documents

Step 3.Submit application

  • You will then need to submit your development application through the NSW Planning Portal. To do this, you will need to register for a NSW Planning Portal account
  • Council cannot accept applications by email, post or in person.

Step 4.What happens next

Council will review your application in the Planning Portal and may request additional information if required. Once Council has accepted your application you will receive a fee request to pay the fees associated with the DA. You will need a MyWilloughby account to complete this payment.

Once payment is made, your application will then proceed to lodgement.
