An exhibition of landscape paintings by Sandra Blackburne.

A solo exhibition by landscape artist Sandra Blackburne explores the effect of light and shadow on the landscape. Her oil paintings of dilapidated structures, a lone twisted tree in the western desert, or a blue gum forest, draw attention to her particular concern, which is to depict the beauty and strength of wilderness to survive the harsh environment, and its fragility in the path of human encroachment.

Opening Event

The exhibition will be opened by William Joyce with a poetry reading and talk by the Wilderness Society.

10 per cent of all sales will be donated to the Wilderness Society.

Painting Workshops

From Drawing to Paint Stage 1

10.30am - 3pm, Wednesday 3 May

Sandra will show you how to transfer initial sketches to canvas. Weather permitting you will sketch outdoors and then be taken through composition, style, underpainting, and layering towards the final painting. Cost: $50 per session. Two sessions $95.

From Drawing to Paint Stage 2

10.30am - 3pm, Wednesday 10 May

Once tonal values are in place, you will be shown how to add colour, depth and adjustments, building up a finished piece. Cost: $50 per session. Two sessions $95
