The plastic problem

Understanding the effects plastic has on every aspect of our lives and the importance of less waste is crucial to a healthier planet. Students learn about the waste hierarchy and how recycling can create practical, meaningful change. 

  • One term program.
  • Cost = $10 per child.
  • Suitable for Stage 3 students.
  • In-classroom teaching materials provided on:
    • The plastic waste problem.
    • How plastic affects the environment.
    • The waste hierarchy (refuse; reduce; reuse; repair).
    • Plastic recycling and circular economy.
  • Students collect from home plastic waste which is recycled into a school ruler during the incursion.
  • Hands-on 45-minute incursion to demonstrate plastic recycling.
