An exhibition of photo media-based works exploring abstraction, formalism and the photographic medium.
Refracted Light presents new works by Jan Cleveringa, Miguel Olmo and Rosalind Stanley, in an exhibition exploring abstraction, formalism and the photographic medium, whilst honouring the role of photographic media as the end product in its own right.
To refract is to alter by viewing through a medium; in Refracted Light the artists utilise a range of image-capturing devices like cameras, mobile phones, and computer-generated algorithms. Refracted Light looks at the world around us from the artists’ eye, presenting it back to the audience as a conglomeration of abstracted forms and ideas.
