Exhibition Dates: 4 - 15 December 2019

An exhibition of Chinese ink paintings by Patrick Given-Wilson, Ming Chan and Lin Xie.

Profound Ink demonstrates contemporary interpretations of traditional Chinese art. It brings together the work of three artists from different backgrounds: Patrick Given-Wilson from London, Lin Xie from Guangzhou, and Ming Chan from Hong Kong. It illustrates how Chinese cultural heritage flourishes in different parts of the world today. All paintings in the exhibition employ the traditional medium of ink and watercolour on rice paper. They feature all the elements of Chinese landscape painting: mountains, rivers, trees and sky, or detail of flora and fauna. The paintings are evocative, peaceful, delicate and serene; expressing their individual moods with a sense of charm and whimsy, they transport the viewer to another world.
