Learn more about the Open Spaces exhibition with artist Sandra Blackburne.
Sandra Blackburne will discuss the paintings in her exhibition which explores country New South Wales. Join the artist at Incinerator Art Space as she explores her work, artistic process and creative influences. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch Sandra at work and ask questions.
Open Spaces represents an escape to the country as opposed to the closed spaces of lockdown. Sandra Blackburne wanted to depict fresh air, expansiveness and freedom. These paintings are a collection of works derived from plein air sketches produced during her travels throughout NSW, and depict Blackburne’s interest in the effects of light on the landscape. They reflect diverse spaces, differing landscapes and changing seasons, but all focus on the drama, fragility and power of country.
