If you need help lodging your tax return, you may be eligible for the Australian Tax Office - Tax Help program.

What is the Tax Help Program?

Each year from August to October, ATO-trained and accredited community volunteers provide a free and confidential service to help people on low incomes who meet the qualifying criteria to complete their tax returns online using myTax.

This volunteer service operates at the Dougherty Community Centre, 7 Victor St, Chatswood 2067 on Tuesdays, 9am-1pm, from 2 August to 25 October 2022 – by appointment only.

What can volunteers help you with?

If you earn $60,000 or less, an ATO accredited volunteer can help you:

  • create a myGov account
  • lodge your tax return online
  • lodge an amendment to your tax return
  • claim a refund of franking credits
  • tell them if you don't need to lodge a tax return.

To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) website
