Update on Northbridge OOSH

Posted: Wednesday, 29 May 2019

The planning and implementation for the new Northbridge out of school hours (OOSH) service is progressing well. The new provider Inspire Australia is excited to be moving forward with a new service.

Some parents have expressed concern that a before school care service is not yet confirmed. As families register their interest over the coming days, Inspire will complete an assessment of the number of families that require before school care.  Once the assessment is made, Inspire will decide if there is enough children to run a before school program. The affected schools are aware of this assessment process.

After school care will definitely be available.

We encourage parents to register their interest with Inspire from today (Wednesday 29 May 2019) to, specifying the required days of care.

Parents have also expressed concern about the fees quoted by Inspire. Inspire is a private business, offering a quality program and it needs to be commercially viable. Council has no influence over the setting of childcare fees. Parents should shop around and investigate what is best for their family.

We’re awaiting approval from the Early Childhood Education Directorate, but we hope to have that secured shortly.

Updates will be available on Council’s announcement page as they arise.
