Learn more about the Unfolding exhibition with artist Debbie Mackinnon.
Debbie will share some of her process, talking about her sketchbooks and the methods she uses when painting outside.
‘Liminal’ is defined as a transitional space where something new might reveal itself. In the landscape, ever changing forces of weather, seasons, light, tides, and time of day constantly shift the boundaries—nothing remains static. The rhythm of walking into remote locations allows Debbie Mackinnon time to absorb and explore mark making outside. The unfolding landscape that emerges is a continuing and profound dialogue with the natural world. Visitors can walk through a large double sided multi panelled hanging landscape drawing installation. Visitors can also view Mackinnon's concertina artist books, as well as plein air paintings and larger studio paintings.
