About the course

If you are starting a career in hospitality, and wish to work in any kitchen premises handling food during your daily work activities in NSW this is the certificate you will need. The course will teach you about handling food safely during the storage, preparation, display, service, and disposal of food. This course is also suitable for international students and other VISA holders.

You will learn about the following topics:

  • Handle food safely.
  • Waste disposal.
  • Contaminated goods disposal.
  • Maintain personal hygiene.

Entry requirements

Students must be at least 14 years of age. Participants must also:

  • Present photo ID.
  • Provide their USI.
  • Have sufficient English language skills to complete the course.

Training and assessment

Students will be taught by industry professionals and receive learning materials that they keep for future reference. Assessment is via written questions, verbal questions, and case study/simulated environment assessment tasks.

Price

The course is usually $100 full price but we are offering it to you for $50 which also includes the Food Authority Certificate.

Certificate - Nationally recognised training!

Once a competent mark is awarded, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment with the relevant unit code: SITXFSA006 - Participate in Safe Food Handling (Incorporated unit: SITXFSA005 - Use hygienic practices for food safety) and also the New South Wales Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

This certificate is valid for 5 years.
