Financial literacy workshop for young people 15 -24 years old. Listen to experts and ask questions about how to approach and manage money.

After surveying 641 young people in the Willoughby LGA, young people state wealth is an important factor for a happy life.

More than 50% of Aussies report regularly feeling stressed about money.

In this workshop we will introduce a few simple and powerful money basics to understand and empower you to manage your financial situation.

Come along and hear from our three expert speakers talk about topics such as:

  • Tips and hints on being financially sustainable
  • Budgeting and the empowerment of knowing your money
  • Credit: the good, the bad and the ugly
  • Investing: bank options- savings, bonus accounts or term deposits; the risks and rewards
  • Superannuation: What is it? What compulsory contributions are and when you can access your super
  • Taxation: Why do we pay tax, what the threshold is, and the taxation brackets
  • How to make your money work for you: goals, smart shopping, and know the difference between your needs and wants
  • Youth Allowance, young students, apprentices and job seekers; eligibiliy criteria, payment rates and how to apply for financial support from Services Australia.

Lunch included! This workshop is for young people 15 -24 years old.
