Take your preschoolers outside. There are a wide variety of bushland reserves or parks that most centres are within walking distance to. A Council environmental educator can help inspire positive, respectful and inquisitive relationships with the natural world.

  • Suitable for children aged 4 to 6 years.
  • 45-minute session during weekdays – included is a guided bushwalk and play activity.
  • 1 session per preschool (Willoughby Council area only) per year. Maximum 20 children. Centre educators to attend.
  • Select 1 location and play activity theme.

Activity themes

Council educators use a variety of props, songs and stories that cover one of the following themes:

  • stormwater
  • native wildlife
  • insects
  • flowers and seeds.

Selection process

  • Submit an application detailing preferred dates.
  • Maximum 10 daycare or preschool groups (Willoughby Council area only) will be selected within a year.
