Willoughby City Council is pleased to announce a new initiative in collaboration with Headspace, a local mental health provider, to offer a series of workshops aimed at providing post-exam stress relief and to promote the benefits of exercise on mental health.
The workshop events will be held at the Willoughby Leisure Centre, located at 2 Small St, Willoughby NSW 2068, on the following dates:
1. Workshop on HIIT: 21/11/23
2. Workshop on Yoga: 28/11/23
The workshops will provide a safe and supportive environment for young adults to engage in activities that promote mental well-being and stress reduction including mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, and physical exercises tailored to alleviate post-exam stress.
Mayor Tanya Taylor expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "We recognise the importance of supporting our young adults during this critical phase of their lives. By combining mental health support from Headspace with the physical benefits of exercise at the Willoughby Leisure Centre, we hope to provide a holistic approach to post-exam stress relief."
The workshops are specifically designed for participants aged 16 to 26
Registration for the workshops is now open, and spaces are limited. Interested individuals can visit https://www.willoughby.nsw.gov.au/Events to secure their spot.
