Willoughby City Council will not be opening its staffed facilities on Thursday 22 September 2022, following the announcement that this day will be a public holiday to mourn the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

This means the following Council facilities will not open on this day:

  • Customer Service Centre (Victor St, Chatswood)
  • Council offices and workplaces
  • Willoughby Leisure Centre
  • Libraries
  • Dougherty Community Centre (including the Blend café and MOSAIC centre)
  • Chatswood Youth Centre
  • Devonshire Street Children’s Centre
  • Out Of School Hour (OOSH) centres at Artarmon and Chatswood
  • Art Space in The Concourse and the Incinerator Art Space
  • Zenith Theatre

The following facilities, which traditionally operate on public holidays or are unstaffed, will remain open:

  • Northbridge Baths (please note that no Council officers will be on-site)
  • The Concourse (which will be opening for pre-scheduled ticketed concerts)
  • Venues or sporting facilities for hire (this excludes synthetic sportsgrounds which are not available for hire on public holidays)

Waste services and collections, along with compliance and a number of other outdoor services, will also continue on the day.

Any urgent matters should be directed to Council’s after hours telephone contact number on (02) 9777 1000.
