COVID-19 Update - 30 March

We thank you again for your ongoing support and adherence to government advice. Let us say again that our essential services such as waste collection and support for elderly and vulnerable people will continue. Here’s some extra changes that started today:
Playgrounds, outdoor gyms, skatepark and the BMX track are closed.
Following the Prime Minister's announcement last night, we’ve closed playgrounds, outdoor gyms and exercise equipment, Chatswood skatepark, the BMX track at Northbridge and Northbridge Baths. The federal government has limited public gatherings to two people. Our parks remain open, however, social distancing is still essential. We’ve put up signage about social distancing at our parks.
Artarmon Oval re-opening early
The upgrade works at Artarmon Oval including re-surfacing, drainage and irrigation are almost complete and we’ll be re-opening earlier than planned. We’ve had several requests from our community asking for more open space to exercise since gyms and organised sports have been suspended. Mostly we have seen our community adhere to government advice and be responsible, however, it was disappointing over the weekend to see that community members pulled apart the temporary fencing to gain access and use the oval and cricket nets and disregard social distancing advice. Until the fencing is removed on 3 April, please do not use the oval as the upgrades are not quite finished. It remains a dog off leash area.
Tennis Courts
Our tennis courts are closed on advice from Tennis NSW and state government.
This includes:

Parking
Our rangers are focused on infringements related mainly to public health and safety such as “red sign” offences including no stopping, no parking and double parking. We will ensure loading zones and truck zones are clear so that essential deliveries can run smoothly. Another priority is to ensure parking spaces for people with disabilities are properly used.
