Councillor Jam Xia

Councillor Jam Xia has served our community as a Councillor since 2021, and as a member on the Willoughby Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee since 2022.

Councillor Xia brings across 8 years of experience working in the commercial banking sector, as a leader providing supervision over financial due diligence, deal structuring and documentation on transactions. He was previously a credit analyst within ANZ’s Corporate & Commercial Banking’s Agriculture Team. Jam brings across knowledges ranging from credit risk analysis skills covering both qualitative and quantitative analysis to the ARIC committee. Councillor Xia holds a Bachelor of Commerce, major in Finance and Accounting from Macquarie Business School at Macquarie University.

Within the Willoughby community, Councillor Xia was appointed as the local Justices of the Peace since 2019, he has served as the Neighbourhood Watch zone representative and a volunteer member of the Community Safety Precinct Committee under the North Shore Police Area Command.

As a Chatswood West Ward resident representing west ward community, Councillor Xia has a strong interest to ensure strata communities are involved in the decision-making process. He is passionate about promoting local history and connecting younger generations with our area and especially the Garden of Remembrance. Preserving open spaces like Anglo Park and Chatswood Oval for community use is also one of his key focuses.
