Willoughby welcomes Year of the Rooster: Chinese New Year Festival 2017

Welcome in the Year of the Rooster at the annual Chinese New Year Festival, one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations in Sydney, from 10am - 5pm, Saturday 4 February at Chatswood Mall and The Concourse, Victoria Avenue, Chatswood.
The Festival, hosted by Willoughby City Council and the Chinese Culture Centre NSW, will include a welcome ceremony at 11am, followed by spectacular Dragon and Lion Dances in Chatswood Mall.
Live entertainment will be held throughout the day from local community groups and performers. In Chatswood Mall, visitors can enjoy Kung Fu demonstrations, singing performances with Chinese musical instruments and even a magic show! This year’s program will also include international guests, the Guoyi Beijing Opera Youth Troupe from China, who will perform four different acts on the day.
The Concourse will be filled with a variety of stalls and will also host another Dragon and Lion Dance at 4pm, performed by by Yau Kung Mun Chinese Martial Arts Academy.
A variety of market stalls selling arts, craft and delicious Chinese food will line Chatswood Mall from 10am - 5pm against the backdrop of colourful New Year decorations.

Zhōngguó xīn nián kuài lè! Happy Chinese New Year!” she said.
