Talks@Willoughby presents Dr Nicola Gates speaking about her book "The Feel Good Guide to Menopause"

Wednesday 13 February 2019, 12.30pm to 1.30pm
Chatswood Library on The Concourse
Lower Ground, 409 Victoria Ave, Chatswood
FREE event

Dr Nicola Gates – author of the best-selling A Brain for Life - will speak at Chatswood Library about how understanding the brain–hormone connection can help women through menopause.

Although women know how to run major corporations and can travel in space, there is little understanding of an event that inevitably awaits them – menopause.

Menopause can impact a woman’s health, relationships, daily functioning, career, mood and emotions, and can profoundly impair her quality of life. Understanding the connection between hormonal changes in the female body, the brain and, indeed, the gut provides us with the fundamentals for transitioning through what can be a challenging – if not overwhelming – time for many women.

Dr Gates’ new book The Feel Good Guide to Menopause is a practical guide on how to best navigate this natural passage in life. By breaking the silence that surrounds menopause, Dr Gates aims to reduce the potential for negative impact, build understanding, compassion and reassurance, and significantly improve the mental and physical wellbeing of women.

Dr Gates is a leading clinical neuro-psychologist and author of the popular book A Brain for Life. She's a frequent public speaker, contributes to popular health magazines such as Prevention and Mindfood, and is a regular guest expert on The Project and Studio Ten.

Lindfield Bookshop will have copies of the author’s book available on the day for sale and signing.
