Party Kit Network - helping make parties more sustainable
Learn about the Party Kit Network, a low-tech community project helping people around the world make parties more sustainable by providing an affordable, practical alternative to single-use. This session will also showcase two of LGAs participation with the network. You will hear from Erin Rhoads (Australia rep for Party Kit Network), Sarah Furnell (Circular Economy Officer, Brimbank City Council) and Jessica Phillips (Waste Education Officer, Whitehorse City Council).

Sydney Library of Things – the share economy in action
Hear from Carol Skyring, President and Co-founder of Sydney Library of Things about the community/council collaboration that led to the creation of this not-for-profit association that runs a number of borrowing libraries (for anything apart from books) supporting communities in Sydney. The libraries have a large collection of extremely useful but only occasionally used items including, camping gear, household appliances, gardening tools, party gear, power tools and more, that are loaned out to the community for a short period of time.
