Willoughby Symphony Orchestra: Legends

Symphony-600x400_WSO_Legends_2022.jpg

Spend a thrilling Night on Bald Mountain with Chief Conductor Dr Nicholas Milton AM and the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra this July as they conjure the dark spirits in Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky’s demonic tone poem, before internationally renowned Australian pianist Vivian Choi Milton joins the orchestra for Sergei Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto, one of the instrument’s greatest masterpieces.

“These Americans cannot get enough of it,” the composer and pianist said while on tour in the USA. The work has become popular the world over for its moving melodies and astounding virtuosity.

Czech master melodist Antonin Dvořak is another composer who found favour overseas. His Seventh Symphony is thought by many to be his greatest work, surpassing even his famous Ninth Symphony, From the New World.

Recommended for ages 12+.
