Speaking for the Planet.jpg

Speaking 4 the Planet is an arts-based sustainability online competition for high school students. Willoughby City Council has funded participation by all the high schools in the Willoughby Council LGA. The competition encourages young people to think creatively and share ideas about living sustainably at local, regional and global levels.

The theme this year is the 2022 World Environment Day theme: Only One Earth. This theme will highlight the possibilities for shifting to more sustainable, greener lifestyles.

Competition categories for the competition are:

  • Speaking
  • Writing
  • Song
  • Performance poetry
  • Art
  • Video.

Students can enter submissions in one or more categories. All submissions will be made online.
For this year, the top 5 students across NSW in the speaking and performance poetry categories will be invited to give their presentations live online! A panel of judges will select the winners.

You can download the Information and Support Package to read about the topic, competition categories and judging criteria.
