We are looking for artists 18+ to be part of Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate: Art Competition and Exhibition for artists who have a disability. This event will provide artists with an opportunity to showcase their creative talent and promote themselves and their artworks.

Now in its second year, we're putting on an art competition for people living with a disability, experiencing social isolation or at risk of marginalisation. Artists of all abilities are encouraged to submit a work.

Exhibition details



  • For people living with a disability, experiencing social isolation or at risk of marginalisation
  • Maximum 2 entries per artist
  • Over 18s only


Entry is free


Artworks submitted must reflect one or more of the three themes being showcased during Social Inclusion week: Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate.

Medium and size

The mediums submitted can include drawings, graphic art and paintings and be no larger than 100cm x 100cm.

Application requirements and dates

Requirements Due by
1 Complete, sign and return Application (Form 1) and Conditions of Entry 5pm, Friday 23 October 2020 
2 Complete, sign and return Artwork Submission (Form 2)(PDF, 297KB) 5pm, Friday 13 November 2020
3 Deliver artwork(s) to Dougherty Community Centre 10am-5pm, Monday 9 to Friday 13 November 2020


The overall winner will be awarded a $500 Eckersley's Arts and Crafts voucher and offered the opportunity for a solo artwork exhibition at the Dougherty Community Centre.

The two (2) Highly Commended entries will be awarded a $100 Eckersley's Arts and Crafts voucher each.

All entrants will be presented a Certificate of Participation at the morning tea.

Morning tea event

Prizes will be announced and awarded by Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney at an International Day of People with Disability invitation morning tea.

Location: Dougherty Community Centre, 7 Victor St, Chatswood

Please note: This will be an invitation only event as attendee numbers will be limited to meet current COVID-19 restrictions.
