About Andrew Gissing - General Manager, Risk Frontiers

Andrew is a community resilience and engagement expert with over 20 years of resilience building experience including in executive management positions.

He previously held the position of Deputy Chief Officer / Director Community Resilience with the Victoria State Emergency Service.

Andrew has led the delivery of more than 70 climate risk and resilience projects. He is an expert facilitator. He has undertaken extensive research on the preparedness of small businesses for flooding and led the development of the Business FloodSafeprogram for the NSW and Victorian State Emergency Services.

About the organisers

Local councils are working with Resilient Sydney, state government and other stakeholders to build community resilience in the face of increasing shocks and stresses in the 21st century ranging from extreme weather and global pandemics to transport stress, employment security and cyber-threats.

The Resilient Business Seminar series is one of several exciting initiatives jointly presented by City of Ryde, Lane Cove and Willoughby City Council to help local communities and businesses prepare for and overcome emergencies.
