MOSAIC Cultural Bushwalk

Join us for a guided walk in beautiful Harold Reid Reserve with Karen Smith from the Aboriginal Heritage Office.

IMPORTANT - This event has been rescheduled for Thursday 16 February.

Karen will discuss the local Indigenous history, culture and landscape features of the reserve, providing an opportunity to reflect and connect with the bush and pay respects to the oldest surviving living culture on the planet. The bushwalk covers some uneven ground.

Bushwalk Details:

  • The bushwalk starts at 9:30am and end around 11:00am.
  • Meet at Harold Reid Reserve, opposite 34 Rembrandt Drive, Middle Cove. Please refer to the Google map attached.
  • Limited bus pick-up is available at the public car park on 7 Victor St, Chatswood, Dougherty Community Centre at 9:00am. Bookings are required. After the walk, you will be driven back to the same pick-up point.
  • Must be fit enough to walk for 1.5 hours with some rest during the walk as required.
  • There will be some uneven surfaces. If you recently had surgery or have mobility issues, please consider whether this walk suitable for you.
  • As it will be summer it will be quite hot. Please ensure you have plenty of water, wear a hat and sunscreen.
  • A light morning tea will provided after the walk around 11am (tea, coffee and biscuits), for around 30 min.
  • For those travelling by the minibus, we’ll aim to be back at the Dougherty Centre by 12pm
  • Suitable for adults only. No children or pets allowed.
  • Comply with current COVID-19 restrictions.
