Description:

Join Judy Christie, naturalist, birder and Birdlife representative, for an early morning bird watch in our Middle Harbour bushland. You will have the opportunity to pick up tips on bird observation and bird counts and contribute your insights, and time to observe the birds in their habitat.

As part of our walk we will also be conducting a bird survey and practice a 20 minute bird count to help prepare you for the Aussie Backyard Bird Count AussieBirdCount.org.au.

The walk will be followed by a morning tea in the clubhouse and Judy will be giving a presentation about local bird species, particularly the small birds, their habits and habitats and how you can improve your backyard or bushcare site for them.

There will be time to discuss your questions too.

This is a great opportunity to get together and meet others with similar interest. It would also be great for those with a knowledge of birding to join in and share your knowledge of local birdlife.

The walk and presentation is suitable for adults and teenagers.

If you have younger children interested in attending please contact Liz.powell@willoughby.nsw.gov.au with your request. Thank you.

The walking track is easy but steep in parts and there are steps and uneven surfaces.

If you wish to book only for the presentation please go to the diary date “Wildlife Watch: Talking Birds”  on 14/10/2017 from 9.30 to 10.30 am
