Bushcare

Bushcare group

Bushcare is a community-based volunteer program that helps regenerate and preserve bushland owned or managed by Council. Free training, technical advice, tools, plants, newsletters and celebrations are provided to support Bushcare volunteers.

Bushcare volunteers are essential to the preservation of Willoughby’s bushland. Groups also work in local parks, street and laneway reserves caring for native vegetation.

Getting started

Weeding

There are currently more than 40 groups throughout Willoughby working in bushland, parks, creek lines and on street verges. There is also a plant propagation group. Meeting times vary for each group, but most meet once a month for 3 hours. For more information about Bushcare contact Council’s Bushcare Coordinator on 9777 7875.
