Apart from the information listed above, Council has a range of other information which can be accessed subject to a public interest test.

2. Codes, Policies and Reports

There is certain information prescribed in the GIPA Act which is made available on Council's website. Other information is available by request over the counter, free of charge.

4. Registers

5. Local Policies and Plans

6. Development Applications

There is certain information prescribed in the GIPA Act which is made available on Council's website. Other information is available by request over the counter, free of charge.

  • Development applications and associated documents including:
    • Home Warranty Insurance documents - Available at Customer Service counter 
    • Construction Certificates - Available at Customer Service counter
    • Occupation Certificates - Available at Customer Service counter
    • Structural Certification documents - Available at Customer Service counter
    • Town Planning reports
    • Submissions received re DAs - Available at Customer Service counter
    • Consultant's reports - i.e. Heritage, Traffic, Tree Inspection, Acoustic, Land Contamination - Available at Customer Service counter

Letters of Objection

Letters lodged in response to the Development Application notification process will be made available to the public including the applicant.  The only exception would be in the case where a correspondent specifically requests that their details be kept confidential in accordance with Section 739 of the Local Government Act (Protection of Privacy).

Details of objections/submissions lodged regarding Development Applications are included in reports to Council and therefore appear in the Council Business Papers with names deleted.

The notification letter inviting submissions re Development Applications specifically informs people that letters of objection will be publicly available in accordance with the provisions in the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

7. Records, Orders and Notices

There is certain information prescribed in the GIPA Act which is made available on Council's website. Other information is available by request, free of charge, over the counter.

The following documents are available from the Customer Service counter on Level 4, 31 Victor Street, Chatswood.

  1. Applications for approvals under Part 1 of Chapter 7 of the LGA
  2. Applications for approvals under other acts
  3. Records of approvals granted or refused or variation from Council Policies
  4. Orders given under Part 2 of Chapter 7 of the LGA and any reasons given under Section 136 of the LGA
  5. Orders given under the authority of any other act
  6. Records of Building Certificates under the EPA Act
  7. Plans of land proposed to be compulsorily acquired by Council
  8. Compulsory Acquisition notices
  9. Leases and licenses for use of public land classified as Community Land
