Willoughby City Council is pleased to announce the key events in its 2023 Seniors Festival, which will run from 1-28 February 2023.

The festival will feature an exciting program of more than 30 free or specially discounted events and activities, where Willoughby’s older community members learn new skills, have fun and make friends and connections.

These events and activities span a wide range of areas, including art, online learning, fitness, cooking, gardening and painting.

Highlights include:

  • A gala concert, including a showcase of adored stage shows, at the Zenith Theatre on 21 February
  • A Sydney Harbour Cruise, with a two course a la carte lunch, on 10 February
  • A webinar by eminent geriatrician Professor Susan Kurrie on 14 February. Professor Kurrie will discuss how to age successfully and what options are available, when you can no longer stay at home.
  • A Seniors Health and Fitness Day at the Willoughby Leisure Centre on 27 February, along with Qi Gong open days at the Dougherty Centre throughout the festival.
  • A tour of the Artarmon Parklands community garden on 15 February.

Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor said the festival included events and activities for everyone, including those with limited mobility or budgets.

“The range of activities and events demonstrates our region’s diverse community, and the active involvement of many wonderful community groups and organisations that help run events,” Mayor Taylor said.

“To our community residents, community groups and government services – we thank you for your contribution and participation.

“I look forward to seeing our seniors at one or many of these fantastic events.”
