Willoughby City is a thriving hub for businesses large and small. As we look ahead, Council is striving to further develop the economy of the area. Discover how Council is supporting local businesses, leading economic recovery and ensuring Willoughby’s economy flourishes now and in the future in an interactive community information seminar hosted online via Zoom at 6.30pm on 26 April.

Chaired by Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney, the information seminars are a way Council is engaging with the community. They are a forum for people to hear about significant initiatives and projects and to ask questions.

Join John Elliott, Economic Development Manager, Willoughby City Council for a fascinating deep dive into what economic development is, why it is important and what it means for Willoughby.

John will unpack how Council works to create jobs and wealth by bringing the business community together, helping existing businesses expand and attracting new businesses, providing opportunities for trading, and attracting customers to help that growth.

He will provide an insight on the steps Council has taken to support recovery post COVID and how we’re working to encourage the community to ‘support local’.

You’ll receive an insight into a raft of data revealing the state of the economy in the area, arming you with all you need to start your own business, and hear about our exciting plans to re-invigorate our Chatswood CBD laneways.
