We are continuing to maintain essential services including waste collection, meals on wheels and some other in home services for elderly and vulnerable people, with additional social distancing and hygiene practices. We’re calling elderly and vulnerable people who normally receive our “At Home with Willoughby” services to make sure they’re ok and offer words of support. Our children’s services (child care and vacation care) remain open. We are following state and federal government announcements closely and are preparing for a complete shut down. We will keep you updated as to what that means for you.
On Monday night (30 March), councillors will consider support for business and the community. We’ll post the agenda to our website shortly.
The state parliament has made changes to the Local Government Act this week. Here’s what it means for you: Elections September’s local government elections have been postponed for 12 months. That means our Mayor and Councillors will continue in their roles until then. Meetings
We will be holding virtual council meetings for up to six months for community and staff safety. We’ll still live stream the meetings and make it available for download afterwards. If you want to present, please instead provide a written statement that will be read out at the council meeting. The agenda will appear on the website before the meeting and minutes available online after the meeting.
