General Council meetings
Please note: To ensure the health and safety of participants, public attendance at Council meetings is limited.
Council has a policy directed by the Local Government Act 1993 that determines how Council Meetings are run. Council usually meets on the fourth Monday of every month at 7pm in Council Chambers to discuss and make decisions about issued that affect the local community. Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings.
Matters that require a decision are provided to Council in a report by Council officers. The report provides the background, discussion and conclusion for the topic and makes a recommendation. These reports are collated into a ‘business paper’ or agenda that is distributed to all Councillors and made available to members of the public on Council’s website.
