General Council Meetings

Please note: For community and staff safety, you will no longer be able to attend chambers to watch the council meeting. However, the meeting will be live streamed and can be viewed on Council's website. The Minister for Health and Medical Research, the Hon. Brad Hazzard MP issued the Public Health (COVID-19 Gatherings) Order 2020 restricting gatherings in indoor spaces.

Council has a policy directed by the Local Government Act 1993 that determines how Council Meetings are run. Council meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:00pm in Council Chambers to discuss and make decisions about issued that affect the local community.  Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings.

Matters that require a decision are provided to Council in a report by Council officers. The report provides the background, discussion and conclusion for the topic and makes a recommendation. These reports are collated into a ‘business paper’ or Agenda that is distributed to all Councillors and made available to members of the public on Council’s website.
