Willoughby Seniors Festival 2018
Have a laugh and meet new people this April
Residents aged 55 and over are invited to take part in Willoughby’s annual Seniors Festival, featuring more than 30 free or specially discounted events and activities.
Sponsored by Willoughby City Council and supported by local community organisations and businesses, the 2018 programme includes free exercise sessions, workshops, art exhibitions, performances, talks and information sessions, open days and more.
New this year is the Seniors Comedy Night on Friday 20 April at the Dougherty Community Centre. Presented by Bunker Comedy, the event will showcase some of Sydney’s finest comedians including Peter Meisel, Christina Van Look and JJ. A light supper will also be provided.
A highlight of the programme is the annual Seniors Celebrations Variety Concert on Tuesday 10 April in the fully accessible Civic Pavilion on The Concourse, Chatswood. The concert will include live music and entertainment by a variety of performers including the celebrated Royal Australian Navy Band, followed by a delicious afternoon tea.
“The Willoughby Seniors Festival programme demonstrates our diverse community and the active involvement of the many wonderful community groups and organisations we have in Willoughby,” said Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney. “The Festival could not happen without the help and support of all those involved – to our community, residents, community groups, government services – thank you for your contribution and participation,” she said.
