Can't find it?

Customers please note: As Willoughby Library prepares to withdraw from the Shorelink network on Wednesday 22 November and transition to a new library management system, suggestions for purchase and inter-library loans may still be requested, however they  will not be processed until after Monday, 4 December 2017.

We appreciate your patience during this time while we improve our systems.

If you’ve searched the Library catalogue and haven’t found the item that you want, you can ask for it by completing our Library Item Request Form. We will evaluate all form submissions to determine how to obtain the item for you – either by purchasing or by borrowing it for you from another library.

Requesting Print items

Not all suggestions are purchased. Decisions to purchase items are based on the Collection Development Guidelines

  • if the title is in print and available from library suppliers
  • the age i.e. published in the last five years
  • format and currency
  • price i.e. generally under $100 RRP
  • Suitability for the Willoughby community.

Requests cannot be taken for titles only available via mail order or online sites.

For items that do not fall within our collection development guidelines we will search other libraries in Australia to find a copy for you to borrow. This service will cost from $3 for most public libraries while charges start from $16.50 from University and special libraries.

If we cannot meet your request, a message is placed on your membership record.
