Bound for Fairyland: Journeying on the Lane Cove River
11 Apr 2016-27 Apr 2016

Rediscover the beauty of the Lane Cove River as it wound through bushland before the pressure of the Sydney real estate demand left its lasting reminders. The Lane Cove River was used in the Colonial times as a thoroughfare for bringing timber from the North Shore down to Sydney. Farms and later industries developed along the foreshores.

Curated by Willoughby City Library Services this pictorial exhibition includes panoramic views issued by the NSW Government Printer, early development such as St Joseph's College in Hunters Hill and the Fairyland Picnic Area.
