Slow PHO: the re-discovery of slow photography
6 Nov 2019-17 Nov 2019

Tuesday - Sunday, 11am - 5pm (Extended Hours)

An exhibition of hand crafted photography by Lyn Arnold, John Bardell, Susan Buchanan & Carolyn Pettigrew

Slow PHO is a counter point to the postmodern, instant gratification of super sharp digital image making. The exhibition showcases a range of images, produced using nineteenth and early twentieth century photographic printing techniques, such as salt, cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, gum bi-chromate, platinum palladium, bromoil and with a nod to the modernintaglio photopolymer. This is slow, handcrafted picture making. Each print reflects the soft magic of light sensitive chemistry laid out on watercolour art papers and silver gelatine paper.

Artists: Lyn Arnold, John Bardell, Susan Buchanan and Carolyn Pettigrew

OPENING EVENT:  3.00pm – 5.00pm, Sunday, 10 November
