Home Business & Community
There are around 64 000 people living in the Willoughby area, with a high number of daily visitors to the area. More than 39% of the population were born overseas, and around 28% speak a language other than English at home. This makes for a diverse community with a wide range of needs, which Council are committed to meeting.
Willoughby City Council is working to help businesses of all sizes grow and develop across the city.
Council provides many different social services to the community.
For all kinds of activities from Pilates to Tai Chi, as well as delicious cafe food, there is the Dougherty Centre. There are classes and education opportunities at Willoughby Park. Teenagers are welcome to hang out and play at the Youth Centre. Council also provides halls to hire, sportsgrounds, baths, a gym, and more.
The weekly Chatswood Mall Market and the popular Emerge Festival are just two examples of Council-organised community events.
