11am – 4pm, Friday 24 March
Chatswood Mall, Victoria Avenue, Chatswood
Celebrate Willoughby’s rich cultural diversity at Herbs for a Healthy Home on Friday 24 March in Chatswood Mall, with a range of activities and demonstrations as part of Chatswood Mall Market.
Herbs for a Healthy Home will showcase the health benefits of cooking with herbs, as well as their origin and cultural significance. The event aims to promote cultural exchange between individuals and groups, as well as encourage a healthy and more sustainable lifestyle.
Activities on the day will include a food demonstration, performances by local cultural groups, a pop-up library and information stalls showcasing Willoughby’s sustainability programs, healthy living programs and the Time to Grow garden share program.
Herbs for a Healthy Home information cards will also be available to take home on the day. Produced in collaboration with the local multicultural community, the cards showcase the different health benefits and uses of herbs, as well as their origin and cultural significance. Cards will also be available to download at www.willoughby.nsw.gov.au after the event.
“The Herbs for a Healthy Home project is a wonderful initiative that encourages inclusiveness, participation and a sense of belonging for everyone,” said Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney. “I invite the whole community to come along to this event and celebrate our rich multicultural heritage,’ she said.
This event is supported by Chatswood RSL through the ClubGrants program
