Experience Willoughby Council’s year in review at Community Information Seminar

Willoughby locals are invited to join Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney and CEO Debra Just for a year in review at the next community information seminar on 28 October. Together with the executive team they will take a deep dive into what makes Willoughby City unique, what Council delivers for the community and its achievements in the 2018-2019 financial year.

Chaired by Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney, the information seminars are a successful new way Council is engaging with the community. They are a forum for people to hear about significant issues and projects and to ask questions.

The presentation will showcase major upgrades including the $9.5 million Gore Hill oval and $1.4 million spent on streetscape projects and explain how improvements to local libraries and recreational facilities benefit the community.

The presenters will talk about how improvement to internal processes made over the financial year have made it more efficient, including how robots are saving time and money. They will unpack key projects, initiatives, reviews and policies Council has worked on and reveal future priorities

Attendees will discover Willoughby City’s distinct demographic, environmental and economic attributes and hear how Council has performed against its financial and operational targets.

The fascinating evening will feature a whirlwind trip through a busy year of festivals, events, workshops and performances. Community members will also have the opportunity to meet their elected members and learn how they advocate on their behalf.

A video of each presentation will be available to download from Council’s website for those who are unable to attend. The topic for each seminar will be announced on the Monday at least one week prior to the seminar which is the fourth Monday of each month.
