24 April 2018

12pm, Wednesday 23 May
The Concourse Concert Hall

International flutist Jane Rutter and Australian musician John Huie reunite onstage with former Chamber group POSH to present Third Culture.

An intimate performance of new world music, the concert will fuse Indian, Arabic and Chinese-inspired classical music with exciting Australian world music for flute, guitar, cello, double bass, Chinese banjo and Indian percussion.

Recognised as a major lunchtime musical event, the 2018 Live at Lunch Season will include romantic masterpieces by Schumann, Schubert and Brahms, exciting new World Chamber music, works by exiled WWII Composers, an homage to Erik Satie and a feast of sacred songs including Ave Maria.

Renowned for her mastery of the French flute style, Jane is a classical music trailblazer, with a career spanning decades. In 2016, Jane was awarded the prestigious French Medal, Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in recognition of her significant contributions to Arts and Literature.
