Chatswood Library on The Concourse
Lower Ground, 409 Victoria Ave, Chatswood
Popular journalist and radio personality, Richard Glover, returns to Chatswood Library to speak about his latest book – The Land Before Avocado on Wednesday 14 November at 12.30pm.
The Land Before Avocado takes a journey to an unrecognisable Australia - the Australia of Richard’s childhood, the late '60s and early '70s.
Let's break the news now: they didn't have avocado.
A place of funny clothing and food that was amusingly appalling. The land of staggeringly awful attitudes - often enshrined in law - towards anybody who didn't fit in.
A funny and frank look at the way Australia used to be, it will leave you thinking about how bizarre things were not so long ago, and just how far we have come.
Richard Glover is the author of several bestselling books, including Flesh Wounds and The Mud House. He writes regularly for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Washington Post, as well as presenting the comedy program Thank God It's Friday on ABC Local Radio.
Lindfield Bookshop will have copies of the author’s book available on the day for sale and signing.
