Shift your thinking with Vivid Ideas at Chatswood

04 June 2018

Vivid Ideas comes to Chatswood for the first time with Tech Shift Exponential, lifting the lid on how sustainability challenges are being solved through inventive ideas. Hosted by ABC science writer and presenter Bernie Hobbs, the fast-paced flow of ideas will set The Concourse abuzz on Friday 15 June, 1pm – 4pm.

The event will feature presentations from thought leaders and entrepreneurs, including City of Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor, Jess Miller; CEO and co-founder of Take 3 for the Sea, Tim Silverwood; and scientist, Louise Hardman, focusing on innovations in three different areas:

Energy

City of Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor, Jess Miller and Ross Harding, founder of Finding Infinity, an organisation dedicated to speeding up the world’s transition to renewable energy, talk about how cities, communities and businesses can get off the grid.

Resource

Learn how rubbish is being turned into a resource. Tim Silverwood, CEO and co-founder of Take 3 for the Sea, a not-for-profit committed to reducing plastic pollution, Louise Hardman, scientist and founder of Plastic Collective, working with coastal communities to clear the oceans of waste and David Sivyer, whose company is turning food waste from cafes in to compost, all share their insights.

Human

As technology develops further, the lives of millions of people are improved. Hear from Sara Rickards, whose ingenious initiatives include turning waste plastic and e-waste into robotic prosthetic limbs.

Tech Shift Exponential is presented by Willoughby City Council’s Better Business Partnership and will be followed by networking drinks.
