Do you have an idea for a gripping crime novel? Discover the essential techniques every crime writer needs at Chatswood Library on The Concourse, Saturday 20 October 2018 at 2pm.
In this two-hour workshop, journalist and creative writing teacher; Keith Whelan, will deliver inspirational advice, acute insights and practical exercises. Whatever your subgenre, whether Scandi-crime or detective ‘cosies’, this workshop will bring out the writer in you.
The workshop establishes the rules of writing crime fiction – from creating convincing characters to the role of research. It covers the practical craft of writing and editing, before explaining in detail how to take your work to a wider readership.
Keith Whelan has worked as a journalist for national and local papers as well as freelancing and teaching creative writing for more than 10 years at a variety of universities, community colleges and libraries in Australia and Ireland.
