Symphony’s moment of GLORY

Effervescent composer and pianist extraordinaire, Daniel Rojas will showcase his virtuosic talents as guest soloist in the Willoughby Symphony’s GLORY concert.
Opening with the masterpiece Pelléas and Mélisandre by French composer Gabriel Fauré, audiences will be spellbound as the orchestra brings this bewitching story to life with tender warmth and beautifully refined sensibility. Daniel Rojas will then join the orchestra on stage to perform the intoxicating rhythms and entrancing melodies of his fiendishly brilliant Latin piano concerto.
The concert will conclude with a breathtaking performance of the beloved choral masterpiece Gloria by the great composer Francis Poulenc. Majestic and passionate, the work will be performed by the full orchestra and choir in a truly captivating experience for music lovers of all ages.
The Willoughby Symphony’s 2017 Composer-in-Residence, Dr Daniel Rojas is renowned as an award-winning composer specialising in the Latin American aesthetic, as well as an acclaimed pianist with stunning live improvisations. Chilean born, Daniel draws from his heritage and a broad musical palette that includes Latin American indigenous, folk, classical and popular traditions, as well as Western classical and jazz techniques.
