FREE event

Join authors Nikki Gemmell and Caroline Baum as they discuss their recent family memoirs and mother-daughter relationships at a special Talks@Willoughby at Chatswood Library this May.

In her memoir After, Nikki Gemmell examines in honest detail the aftermath of her mother’s euthanasia death and asks if this action should be celebrated as an act of empowerment and control, or condemned for the emotional havoc they wreaked across her stunned family.

Caroline Baum’s gripping memoir Only details an unconventional childhood that explores what it means to be an only child, as well as the daughter of two people damaged by trauma and tragedy - torn between love and fear, obedience and rebellion, duty and the longing to escape.

Nikki Gemmell is the best-selling author of 13 novels, including the international bestseller, The Bride Stripped Bare. Caroline Baum has worked for the BBC, ABC, Time Life Books, Vogue magazine and was the founding editor of Good Reading magazine and the Editorial Director of Booktopia.

Lindfield Bookshop will have copies of the authors’ books available on the day for sale and signing.
