Council seeks feedback on former Artarmon Bowling Club site
05 May 2017
Willoughby City Council is seeking feedback from the community regarding the future use of the former Artarmon Bowling Club site, located at 1A Burra Rd, Artarmon.
As a condition of Council’s purchase of the site in February 2016, the site must remain a community recreation facility. A building audit of the 70 year old weatherboard building indicates that an estimated $1.5M would be required for building upgrades to meet current building standards.
There will be two opportunities for the community to participate in the consultation process:
1. A short survey online at HaveYourSayWilloughby.com.au until Friday 16 June, 2017.
2. An Open Day from 10am – 12noon, Sunday 21 May at the Artarmon Bowling Club site. The event will include a free sausage sizzle, pickling and fermenting food demonstrations and seed planting activities.
All feedback received from the community will form the basis of a Draft Artarmon Reserve Master Plan, which will be put on exhibition for further public feedback.
“Community feedback will play a vital role in ensuring this site will meet the needs of our current and future community,” said Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney. “I encourage everyone to get involved in the consultation and help Council continue to fulfill the changing needs of its residents as the community grows and develops,” she said.
