Children are invited to enter the magical world of classical music with the Willoughby Symphony’s Boom Box, a special concert experience just for families.
Introducing children to the wonders of a symphony orchestra, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr Nicholas Milton AM will lead a dynamic and interactive performance that will engage and entertain in a fun and educational setting.
The concert will include excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s beloved Fifth Symphony as well as a special performance of Boom Box by renowned Australian composer, Matthew Hindson AM, an explosive piece featuring all the sounds of the percussion family that will delight and astound young audiences.
The performance will be followed by free art and crafts activities, face painting and balloon twisting from 3pm-4pm in The Concourse foyer, as well as an opportunity for children to meet the musicians and learn more about the instruments of an orchestra.
"Boom Box is set to be a fascinating experience for young children as they discover classical music in a way that will enthral them," said Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr Nicholas Milton AM. "A perfect fusion of entertainment and education, this concert is a wonderful way to for children to develop an understanding and lifelong appreciation for classical music," he said.
